It is with sadness that we report Doug Benning, high school science teacher, died May 16 of a heart attack after a late night run. Doug had worked at ASIJ for the past two years and was known for introducing the forensics class to our curriculum this year. His daughter, Xi’an is a third grader at ASIJ, and his wife, Miyuki, has been an active parent within the school. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced to the ASIJ school community.
